I had my wedding party in the barn on 16 June for around 50 guests. The venue was perfect for this size of party. We could choose our own barrel of beer which guests could pull themselves. The canapés and pizzas were amazing. The pub had a popcorn machine so fresh popcorn was also available. The staff were lovely & the manager was very accommodating. All the guests have commented on how lovely and intimate the venue was. We are so happy we found this venue. It made our day absolutely perfect.
Well what a wonderful afternoon! Cosy, welcoming and unpretentious on entering. We ordered St Emillon 2014 Grand Cru if you know your wine then it’s a real treat. Good quality beef served rare and rested, absolutely perfect. Desserts were truly homemade simple and delicious. Our waitress was relaxed, friendly and happy. I will be returning with new guests confident that they will enjoy this place as much as we did. A big thank you to all staff and management.
I visited The Pinkneys Arms last week after hearing great reviews from friends in the area. I wasn't disappointed!! We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the crackling log fire. Only popped in for lunch so skipped the starters. We both had the crab linguine which was stunning; beautiful white chunks of crab meat in a lovely dressing with chilli. Couldn't fault the dish in all honesty. The wine list had depth and was suitable for all tastes and budgets. Definitely will return, probably on a Sunday with the family. Highly recommended.
Putting the lunch back into Sundays. Sometimes it's good to slow down and enjoy life in the company of friends. This is just the experience I had recently in the convivial atmosphere of the Pinkneys Arms. This well-managed establishment offered a warm welcome, some fine local ales and a wonderfully cooked and presented, king of Sunday lunchtime, a plate of roast beef. The chef has paid real attention to the quality of both the meat and vegetables. They were cooked with care. This is what Sunday lunch is all about. Well done to the team at the Pinkneys Arms, many other local establishments could learn from a visit.
Went for a late Sunday lunch and ordered the lamb. The whole meal was excellent: in particular the lamb was superb. Normally I would smother it in mint sauce, but this was so tasty I did without. I can honestly say it is probably the best lamb I have ever had in my 71 years, and I've had plenty in that time! Not only that, but the choice of wines was very good - plenty to choose whatever your palate, and at a reasonable price.
